Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton opens its doors today

The new 4-star hotel, next to one of Porto’s main monuments, is the result of a 23.8-million-euro investment by Mercan Properties and is the first project under the Tapestry Collection brand, belonging to the international Hilton group, to operate in Portugal.

"We believe that Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will be an architectural landmark in the city of Porto. The hotel has an innovative concept, next to one of the city's main monuments, the Sé Cathedral. This project results from the conversion of a historic building, a UNESCO heritage in 2012, which now gives way to a modern and welcoming hotel, open to the city and visitors from all over the world", says Jordi Vilanova, president of Mercan Properties.

Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is the result of another urban rehabilitation project by Mercan Properties and has guaranteed permanent 80 jobs during construction and 32 direct jobs. Ace Hospitality Management (AHM) is in charge of the hotel management.

Located in one of the city's noble areas, the new hotel has 77 rooms, a restaurant, bar and a café on the terrace, with a view of Porto Sé Cathedral, one of the country's oldest monuments, built in the 12th century. Within walking distance are the banks of the Douro River, as well as several historic churches, museums and restaurants.

The focus on design and decoration makes Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton a unique hotel, which stands out from the rest of the city's hotels, aiming to be a multicultural meeting point for those seeking comfort and originality.

To reinforce the relaxed atmosphere, in the various spaces of the hotel, you can find traditional and emblematic expressions of the North of Portugal.

Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is Mercan Properties' second hotel to be inaugurated in the city of Porto, followed by the Casa da Companhia Hotel in July 2021.
