Mercan Properties opens a new hotel: Hilton Garden Inn Évora

The city of Évora witnesses the opening of a new hotel - Hilton Garden Inn Évora, the result of a 21-million-euro investment by Mercan Properties.

This hotel is the first investment by Mercan Properties to open its doors in Alentejo, a region where it already has four hotel projects. Hilton Garden Inn Évora offers a prestigious location to its visitors, just a few minutes away from the historic center of the city of Évora, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

With an area of more than eight thousand square meters, Hilton Garden Inn Évora has 130 rooms and an outdoor swimming pool on the terrace of the hotel's highest floor, with a bar. The hotel also has a restaurant, gym, and meeting room with a capacity for up to 50 people.

This new hotel is endowed with a strong influence of the local cultural and historical heritage in order to provide a unique experience to guests, being located just a few minutes away from the most iconic monuments of the city of Évora, such as the Temple of Diana, Giraldo Square and the Chapel of Bones.

For Jordi Vilanova, President of Mercan Properties, the Mercan Group's debut in the Alentejo is a landmark investment for Mercan Properties, which thus inaugurates a new hotel in another historical city of Portugal, through an international brand of excellence: the Hilton Garden Inn brand; which perfectly illustrates the real benefits and the capacity that foreign investment presents to deliver innovative projects, which present themselves as stimulators of economic and tourism dynamism. This new hotel is the result of the Residence Permits for Investment activities regime, and therefore demonstrative of the potential of this type of regime to effectively create wealth, tourism attractiveness and employment.

Mercan Properties anticipates that Hilton Garden Inn Évora will create 95 direct jobs with the start of operations and, in addition to these, also contributed to the creation of 80 jobs during the construction period of the development, which began on May 2021, with the laying of the first stone.
