Alentejo is one of the best wine destinations in the world!

The award resulted from Vivino, which assigned the Alentejo region the 12th position among the 200 wine references highlighted in the survey.

The study was conducted by the London travel agency CV Villas and resulted from the growing demand on Google search for wine holiday and vineyard tours, references that registered an increase between 22% and 50%, within a year.

Under this analysis were those that might be the best wine tourism destinations in the world, ranking them by region and totaling the score. After sorting from highest to lowest, the study was able to reveal the places where tourists can taste the best quality wine.

In 2022, the Alentejo region was highlighted by the New York Times as one of the 52 sustainable destinations in the world. The development of the Alentejo Wines Sustainability Program (PSVA), in the region, motivated the distinction in the 7th position of the published list.
