Four Points by Sheraton Matosinhos is the second Four Points brand hotel in Portugal. A Marriot International brand - the largest hotel industry in the world that has been in Portugal for a few years - this Four Points is in Matosinhos and aims to combine the values ​​of the brand itself with local values: wanting to be part of the community and absorbing its values.

It was with this recipe for success that, this year, it received the Shining Star by Marriot International award in Abu Dhabi in the Intent Recommend Top Performer Hotel category. Within its first year of operation, being recognized with an award that is the result of guest evaluation, is very gratifying and illustrates well the hotel’s essence of being in Matosinhos, as a local experience.

According to Tiago Duarte, General Manager, the uniqueness of this hotel “is special, as it responds to both leisure and business customers”. In other words, a client traveling on business can benefit from the proximity of the airport and public transportation, as well as it facilitates enjoying the region's limited possibilities: “Travelers can enjoy the beach, a cultural moment in Serralves or at the Casa da Arquitetura, or even do some sports: like a run along the beach or in Parque da Cidade, or surfing, for example”.

Furthermore, Tiago Duarte emphasizes the region’s legacy as the best seafood in the world, making it a rich area for different types of meals: “We can have a quicker delight or a more high-end meal in a fine dining restaurant, and the same happens at our hotel”, he explains.

In addition, there's a unique feature that is part of the 108 rooms: the kitchen. Equipment that provides great autonomy in accommodation, also responding to the demands of both business and leisure customers. Added to this feature is the gastro bar, which has a wide range of local beers, signature cocktails, and “a menu that meets the brand’s values: honest and comfortable food”.

A note not to forget, according to General Manager, is the buffet breakfast served on the -1 floor, “with access to the patio with an excellent natural light on mild days”. A Gym - to complement outdoor physical activity -, a small room with a capacity for up to 50 people (for meetings or social reasons), a restaurant, and a car park, complete the offer of Four Points by Sheraton Matosinhos.

Meeting all its customer needs, Four Points by Sheraton Matosinhos is one of the largest hotels in the region. “It is an up-scale brand with proven quality in many geographies that is, at the moment, undergoing redoubled expansion in Europe”

In the near future, it may have more units in Portugal: “We are a destination of choice and I think the brand makes sense in Portugal; So, in the future, I feel that there will be more units with the Four Points by Sheraton seal”, he concludes.
