Mercan Properties at the 1st Mental Health National Congress

ASM's 1st National Mental Health Congress, brought together professionals and institutions to discuss the mental health concerns that permeate society.

With mental health taking a leading role in organizations, it has become important and pertinent for companies to discuss and establish the necessary parameters for change. The event was attended by international and national guests such as Miguel Gomes, Head of the People Department at Mercan Properties. 

During the conference, there were panels dedicated to national and international policies on mental health, the actors of change in public health and the organizational environment, measures to take action, and some examples of national initiatives.

The event was also attended by Christopher Prinz, economist and director of Employment, Labour, and Social Affairs at the OECD, via video call, and David Ballard, psychologist and organizational consultant, in person. "The pandemic has brought something good: it has normalized the discussion of mental health problems," said David Ballard, who has been studying mental health concerns since his time at the American Psychology Association, believing that the lessons learned from the pandemic are being unconsciously deliberately by organizations.
