Room occupancy in the Algarve rose up to 44.2% in November

According to AHETA - Algarve Hotels and Tourist Resorts Associations, this indicator also improved the statistics compared to November 2019.

The occupancy rate per room in the Algarve reached 44.2% in November, 1.3 percentage points higher than in the same period in 2022, the Algarve Hotels and Tourist Resorts Association announced on Wednesday.

The data recorded last month also improved by 0.4 percentage points on the numbers for November 2019, a year in which tourist activity had not yet been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, AHETA said in a statement.

Provisional data for November compiled by the study office of the Algarve Business Association indicates that the tourist source markets that contributed most to the positive year-on-year figures were "the British, up 1.4 percentage points, the Swedish, up 0.9 percentage points, and the Canadian, up 0.6".

In terms of geographical areas, the main increases compared to November 2022 were achieved in Tavira (up 9.0 percentage points), Faro and Olhão (up 8.7 percentage points), and Carvoeiro and Armação de Pera (up 6.8)".
