LUSA Agency states tourism ocupation for Easter in Algarve with bookings above last year's rates

The outlook for tourist occupation for Easter in the Algarve is "very good", having a "higher" pace of bookings compared to the same date last year, sector officials told Lusa.

"According to the sector professionals' feedback, we are experiencing a very good pace of bookings, higher than what was observed at the same time last year," the president of the Algarve Tourism Region told the Lusa agency. André Gomes insisted there are "very positive prospects" for visits by tourists, both domestic and foreign, to the southernmost region of Mainland Portugal.

Portuguese are expected to top the list of nationalities visiting the Algarve, followed by the British, French, Irish, and Spanish, to name just the most important ones.

On the other hand, the president of Algarve Tourism highlighted that the number of tourists from the United States of America continues to grow significantly.
