Daikin organized an exclusive event for guests and industry experts at the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel, a 5-star hotel in the city of Porto, recently opened and equipped with advanced HVAC solutions from Daikin.

The event brought together more than fifty guests, including designers, installers and other professional Daikin customers, in addition to the presence of employees specialized in the brand's solutions. The objective of this event was fundamentally the presentation and detailed explanation of Daikin's solutions for the hotel sector, reinforcing the brand's leading position in offering sustainable and efficient technologies.

The Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel was chosen for the event because it integrates Daikin solutions that, in addition to being an example of sustainability, allowed this hotel unit to be the first in Portugal to achieve LEED Platinum certification (the highest level in existence). This hotel of excellence, which has 12,308 m² and 164 rooms in the city of Porto, also stands out for its innovative architecture and commitment to ecological practices, becoming a model of modern and responsible hospitality.

The event was attended by several Daikin specialists, including António Nunes (Sales North Manager), Pedro Miranda (Consulting Sales Supervisor), Gil Costa (Applied Systems Supervisor) and Paulo Palhau (Consulting Sales Engineer). In addition, two special guests were present at the session: Fernando Silva, Head of HVAC at JFA Engenharia, and Carlos Ferreira, General Director HVAC at Race, who shared their experience in implementing the solutions at the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel.

The Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel stands out for its sustainability practices, with high energy savings compared to conventional buildings. Innovative Daikin technologies installed include:

  • 2 multifunctional heat pumps (4 tubes) with inverter screw compressors: EWYD450 4Z-XR
  • 2 High Temperature (75º) heat pumps with screw compressors for DHW: EWWH090J
  • 12 air handling units (single and double flow)
  • 167 duct and cassette type fan coils with EC motor
  • DX System for Room Servers

A set of solutions that directly contribute to energy efficiency and guest comfort, while respecting the highest standards of environmental responsibility.

Innovative even in sustainability and energy efficiency

The commitment to sustainability is a priority for Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel and Daikin. In addition to all the Daikin differentiating elements described above, the hotel also stands out for its water conservation, with the reuse of 55% of rainwater for toilet flushing, and for the use of photovoltaic panels that provide up to 12% of the total electricity consumed. The installation of charging stations for electric vehicles and the use of sustainable materials reinforce the hotel's role as a model of eco-hospitality.

With an extensive range of solutions applicable to the various market segments, from Domestic, Commercial, Hospitality, Hospital and Industrial, Daikin continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing technologies that combine innovation and environmental responsibility, contributing to the success of its partners.
