AHM - Ace Hospitality Management, Mercan Properties hotel management company, has entered a strategic partnership with the Portuguese Hotel Directors Association (ADHP) to enhance training and talent acquisition in the hospitality sector.

According to both AHM and ADHP, the collaboration carries a dual purpose: attracting new talent to the hospitality industry and providing advanced training to employees working across AHM's 12 hotels throughout Portugal. The initiative aims to "promote the ongoing professionalization and value enhancement of the hospitality industry."

As part of this partnership, AHM - Ace Hospitality Management professionals will gain access to ADHP’s Specialization Course in Hotel Management, which offers in-depth training in key areas such as business planning, sustainability, digital marketing and e-commerce, human resources, and labor and hospitality law.

In addition, the partnership includes a recruitment initiative in which ADHP will actively promote job openings from AHM’s portfolio of hotel properties through its employment platform to attract and retain high-potential candidates.

AHM has been experiencing strong growth, and as a result, we continuously need to strengthen our teams – both in size and in specialization,” said Mariano Faz, CEO of AHM - Ace Hospitality Management. This partnership with ADHP is essential to further empower our hospitality professionals through a collaborative, cohesive, and credible approach. We believe this synergy will enable us to deliver increasingly personalized and enriching accommodation experiences for our guests.”

The partnership is being launched at a key phase for AHM, a company within the Mercan Group, as it prepares to expand operations with three additional hotels opening in 2025, bringing its portfolio to 15 units across the country.

“This partnership represents a key step in the development and qualification of AHM’s professionals — and a model for the industry that highlights how investing in career development is vital for talent acquisition and retention,” said Fernando Garrido, President of ADHP.

“We believe that collaborative efforts like this not only elevate professional qualifications but also reinforce the ability of hotel units to consistently deliver the excellence they’re known for. This alliance between ADHP and AHM demonstrates that cross-sector cooperation in training is the foundation for a more sustainable and future-ready hospitality industry, Garrido added.
