If you're planning a weekend getaway to Alentejo, we suggest a visit to a new gastronomic project featuring the creative signature of chef Miguel Rocha Vieira. Forno da Telha, located in the former Quinta do Poço Novo, promises "contemporaneity, technique, and originality" in the reinterpretation of Alentejo cuisine. It is open every day for dinner (7 PM–10 PM) and offers a variety of delicacies.

Start with the couvert (€6), which includes Alentejo bread, "Forno da Telha" olive oil, fermented olives, and pork lard butter. Then, move on to small plates such as Alentejo black pork ham cured for at least 30 months (€12) or cured sheep cheese from Arraiolos (€8).

For starters, options include rabbit in carrot and orange escabeche served with a citrus salad (€12), ear salad with cracklings and pickled mustard seeds (€12), and wild boar pie with pear and nut salad (€13).

Once you reach the main courses, you can try açorda or dogfish soup (€19), lamb stew (€24), or marinated black pork presa with potato "miguinhas" and grilled romaine lettuce heart (€23).

Also check out the outdoor area, with a pool and bar, offering snacks like a selection of black pork sausages (€15), head cheese (€11), cilantro hummus with crunchy vegetables (€6), stew croquettes (€8, 5 pcs), and marinated mushrooms (€7), accompanied by a glass of wine (prices per glass range from €5 to €9).
