On July 3, representatives from Mercan Properties attended a business luncheon in Lisbon, hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Development Office. The event was supported by the Portugal-Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHKCCI), of which Mercan is a Gold Member, and brought together key figures from both public and private sectors to strengthen ties between Portugal and the GBA.

Mariana Monteiro (Director of Investor Relations and Operations), Marcelo Azevedo (Business Development Manager), and Bernardo Lemos (PR Specialist) represented Mercan at the event. Their presence reflected Mercan’s growing interest in international partnerships that support innovation, construction development, and global investment synergies.

The luncheon featured insightful addresses by Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, and Ms. Maisie Chan, Commissioner for the Development of the GBA. They presented an in-depth update on the region’s strategic developments, highlighting pathways through which Portuguese companies and professionals, especially within housing and infrastructure, can engage with opportunities in the GBA via Hong Kong.

The session served as a valuable opportunity to explore cooperation with one of the most dynamic regions in Asia. For Mercan Properties, it reaffirmed the relevance of fostering global relationships that align with our vision for sustainable, forward-looking development.

We would like to express our warm gratitude to PHKCCI President Bernardo Mendia and General Secretary Carlos Torres for their hospitality and commitment to fostering meaningful connections between Portugal and Hong Kong.

Mercan Properties looks forward to continuing this dialogue and participating in future initiatives that strengthen our international partnerships.
